agreement with most of your points, especially the launching of a forum for measuring biodiversity. But disagreement with your statement that "all this money has been given to people who do other things than taxonomy" referring to the projects Martin has listed. From my own experience I know that, for example, COBICE that allows researchers to work on the collections of the Copenhagen Biodiversity Center, has been very successful so far in enhancing fish taxonomy work by (partly young) Europeans in high biodiversity areas like the Canary Islands or the Indopacific. But certainly such facilities could be used even better, if there would be money to educate and support young scientists to a further point than just reaching a master's or a PhD title.
